Agar Limited Edition
“IN HER BRAIN, ENGINEERING; IN HER HEART, THE LAND.”
“Agar Limited Edition” is the special project dedicated to one of the most important women of our family, Agar Bonati Sorbatti. An absolute pioneer of her time, in 1923 she became the first female engineer in Le Marche region, and the seventh in Italy. At the same time, she loved nature and its harmony, she loved simple life. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of her graduation, the company wants to celebrate Agar’s legacy and heritage through a special collaboration with the Italian artist and illustrator Gianluca Folì.
The project is proposed in 100 bottles only. One hundred, as the years from Agar’s graduation. Each bottle from this numbered series is personally hand-numbered by Jurek Mosiewicz and accompanied by a Certificate of Uniqueness. Every bottle is unique, as Agar has always been. Agar Limited Edition can be exclusively found in our winery and our online shop.
Gianluca Folì has been invited on a deep-dive into Agar’s history, values, heritage, in order to envision her through his art. The result is a portrait of Agar that goes straight to the heart: a woman with innate charisma, strong in her scientific knowledge and, at the same time, loving towards what touches her most: the land, and the seamless and harmonious cycle of nature.
This limited edition is a full expression of the territory of Colli Maceratesi. It comes from the grapes of the Levante vineyard, exposed to the sun and the gentle breezes of the Adriatic Sea; Sangiovese and Merlot, 2018 vintage, come together in a persuasive symphony. Aged in barrique for 5 years, “Agar Limited Edition” is a wine with elegance, structure and strong personality.
“Gianluca Folì was able to interpret the essence of my grandmother Agar in an authentic and spontaneous way, fully capturing the spirit of this woman, so important for the whole family, and the profound gratitude we feel towards her. I was glad to welcome him in our estate and guide him through the milestones of our family history”. – Jurek Mosiewicz –
